Namaskaram

I am grateful to [...] in bringing us together by means
of his e-mail message (appended below).

There will be no war between Bharat and Pakistan this
summer. Violence in Jammu and Kashmir, and elsewhere
in Bharat, perpetrated by the Terrorist State of Pakistan
and Muslim terrorists will continue as it has since 1947.

When news stories about the possibility of a Bharat-
Pakistan war in the summer began to appear earlier this
year, I examined the Jyotish charts of both countries
(based on August 14/15, 1947 times) and was *not* able to
predict even a Kargil-level war for this summer, and had
occasion to post this conclusion in the Usenet newsgroups
in March.

Other Jyotishis have been reported as predicting a war,
and if the newspapers have accurately published the news
items, then I respect the fact that they must have a
reason for the predictions -- a reason that is not yet
evident to yours truly.

In service to Dharm, I remain,

Jai Maharaj

MADONNA-RITCHIE WEDDING - WHEN?

An auspicious time window for a Madonna-Guy Ritchie wedding ceremony is March 11 - June 5, 2000.

Do I recommend it? Yes, I rate it a 6 on a scale of 0-10 -- slightly above-average.

Earthquake

I published the following prediction on December 15, 1999 and Deja News archived it
here: "According to my evaluation based on Jyotish, a significant earthquake is extremely likely in Bharat during the period extending from the third week of January, 2000 to mid-February, 2000."

Your savior has come, do not commit suicide on December 31, 1999

Millennium suicidals who are going to kill yourselves on Dec 31, 1999:

Your savior has come!

Do not commit suicide on December 31, 1999 -- I am going to save your life. The millennium does not, repeat, does not end on December 31, 1999. Please read the followingand abandon your suicide plans:

Do you agree that this is the Gregorian calendar year1999? (Of course!)

Good.

The Gregorian calendar system began with 1 AD, not year 0 -- the year 1 AD was preceded by 1 BC, not 0 BC or 0 AD.

A "millennium" represents a thousand years, so let us count the years:

Year Year
1st 1 AD -- First millennium's first year
2nd 2 AD
3rd 3 AD
4th 4 AD
[...] [...]
9th 9 AD
10th 10 AD
11th 11 AD
12th 12 AD
[...] [...]
99th 99 AD
100th 100 AD -- First millennium's hundredth year
101st 101 AD
999th 999 AD
1000th 1000 AD -- First millennium's last year
1001st 1001 AD -- Second millennium's first year
[...] [...]
1499th 1499 AD
1500th 1500 AD
[...] [...]
1900th 1900 AD
1901st 1901 AD
[...] [...]
1998th 1998 AD
1999th 1999 AD
2000th 2000 AD -- Second millennium's last year

The millennium ends on Dec. 31, 2000, not on Dec. 31, 1999.

Those Christian fundamentalists, cult members and others who are planning to commit suicide on December 31, 1999 need not do so -- you have been saved.

Subject: Answer to your Jyotish questions

Namaste

Dear Dr. _____ ___________:

Shukriya for your message, appended below, and dhanyavaad for your kind words.

As to your question about how long the Vajpayee government will last, I conducted a Jyotish study and posted the general conclusion last year that the pendulum is swinging in the conservative direction for Bharatvarsh. The Vajpayee government should last the full term.

About your question about Priyanka -- some astrologers predicted in 1998 that she would become prime minister in the year 2002. Based on the work I have done, I do not see that happening. In fact, I do not predict that she will rise to that spot in the near future, defined in the present context as about a decade.

Your last question is about the possibility of a nuclear war against Pakistan or China. My answer: not during the next 20 years. I have not studied the situation beyond that, but hope to do so soon.

All the best,

Jai

Cycles that renew

The identification and use of repeating cycles is one part of scientific prediction work. Many such cycles have sub-cycles within them, and the smaller cycles contain even smaller ones.

The picture can get quite complicated when examining the time line of a person or event, but trends which affect a very large segment of society are easier to see. Fad and fashions are in this category -- especially clothes and jewelry. In the Reuters photo on the right, models display evening dresses during a fashion show in Milan, Italy, promoting the year-2000 Gianni Versace spring-summer line. No doubt the clothes look familiar to many of you who saw them during the late '60s and early 70s about 30 years ago.

The 30-year fashion cycle is recognized as a sub-cycle of the 60-year one which is usually associated with major changes and disturbances, affecting most of the world. Sixty years ago in September , 1939 France and Britain declared war on Germany after Germany invaded Poland. World War II began.

In personal and event prediction analysis, mathematical cycles down to the fourth, fifth and sixth levels, lasting short durations of time, are calculated and examined.

As predicted, sanctions adversely affect the sanctioner more

An excerpt from more than a year ago:

"Speaking of western sanctions against India, about the only real effect they will have is that the West will lose access to the world's largest talent and consumer base in a free country." - Jai, May 13, 1998.

A news item today:

Report says sanctions make U.S. exporters appear unreliable

The Indian Express, via
News Plus
Thursday, September 23, 1999

Washington - Trade sanctions imposed on India and Pakistan after they tested nuclear devices are causing U.S. exporters look unreliable, according to a government report. The sanctions were triggered in may 1998 after both countries conducted underground nuclear tests in violation of international agreements, reports AP.

While the sanctions have had little impact on either country or U.S. exports, the brunt of what lost sales did occur fell on American farmers, said the U.S. international trade commission. The commission studied the impact of the sanctions at the request of the house ways and means committee. Its report was to be released today by the lawmakers. "This is more proof that unilateral sanctions aimed at other countries often have a boomerang effect on U.S. workers and our economy," said Rep. Phil Crane, a Republican from Illinois.

"In this case it was the farm belt, but who knows what U.S. industry will be next?" he asked. A copy of the report was obtained by AP. The study is being released at the same time house and senate negotiators are debating legislation that would allow the sale of food and medicine to Cuba for the first time in four decades and make it harder for a president to impose future embargoes. President Bill Clinton has temporarily waived restrictions for India and Pakistan on the use of various federal aid, including credits and guarantees for the sale of agricultural products. You ain't seen nothin' yet

Everyone wants to know near the beginning of each year how the next twelve months are going to be for the country and the world. My general answer for the last few years has been "More violence, more starvation, more disease, and more actions based on foolishness and ignorance. If you think that the last year was bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet."
[...]
Daily bombings of Iraq by the US and Britain, and of its neighbors by Israel continued in 1999 but we also witnessed the war in Kosovo and the aggression by Pakistan in Kashmir, India's northernmost state. Violence in Africa and elsewhere also continued. And this week, the world has been horrified by the atrocities in East Timor -- be warned that
these pictures are very graphic. A discussion is in progress here.
[...]
You're not going to ask about 2000, are you? The answer will be the same if you do.

Tofu-vegetable kababs - a recipe by Carina de Wit-Lord

Vegetables
12 oz. extra firm water-packed tofu
1 medium eggplant
2 small zucchini
1 medium red pepper
10 oz. mushrooms
1 can baby corn, drained

Marinade
3 tablespoons regular or low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 medium cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
1/2 tablespoon ground mustard powder
1/4 tablespoon black pepper

4 barbecue skewers

Preparation
This dish is best prepared a day in advance to allow the ingredients to soak in the marinade overnight.

Drain the tofu, carefully squeezing out excess water, and pat dry with paper towels. Cut tofu into one-inch squares. Set aside.

Cut eggplant lengthwise in half, then cut each half into approximately three strips. Cut strips crosswise into one-inch cubes.

Slice zucchini into half-inch thick slices. Cut red pepper in half, removing stem and seeds, and cut each half into one-inch squares. Wipe mushrooms clean with a moist paper towel and remove stems.

Thread tofu and vegetables on to barbecue skewers in alternating color combinations: For example, first a piece of eggplant, then a slice of tofu, then zucchini, then red pepper, baby corn and mushrooms. Continue in this way until all skewers are full.

Make the marinade by putting all ingredients in a blender, and blend on high speed for about one minute until mixed. Alternatively, put all ingredients in a glass jar, cover tightly with the lid and shake well until mixed.

Lay the kebabs in a long, shallow baking pan or on a non-metal tray, making sure they lie flat. Evenly pour the marinade over the kebabs, turning them once so that the tofu and vegetables are coated. Refrigerate the kebabs for three to eight hours, occasionally spooning the marinade over them.

Broil or grill the kebabs at 450° F for 15-20 minutes, or on the grill, until the vegetables are browned.

Suggestions
This meal can be served over cooked, brown rice. Amounts can easily be doubled to make four servings.

Carina de Wit-Lord has written about vegetarianism for In Pittsburgh newsweekly and Everybody's News.

The doom and gloom gang strikes again

The D&G team did not learn its lessons from the failure of their, and Nostradamus' predictions about the end of the world on July 4, and again on the total solar eclipse date of August 11. Pinch, I am still here and so are you. The world continues to serve up the soup of mixed fortunes. Now they are saying that the world will end on May 4, 2000. Why that date? A few prominent astrologers seem to be frightened by the fact that all planets and the Moon will be in Aries on that day, with the exception of Mars which will be in Taurus. See for yourself -- my comment follows the chart:

Above, Rahu and Ketu are the Moon's north and south nodes, and Lagn is the ascendant. Does the chart really spell catastrophe? Yes it does for many people -- in fact, for numerous living beings. Zillions of people and things come in to and leave this existence every moment. For others, it will be just another day, and an incredibly happy and successful one for the rest of us. As far as events related to large communities, the society, countries and the entire world are concerned, no comet will strike our planet, no peace treaties will be signed, no world leaders will pass on, no major earthquakes in heavily-populated regions will destroy life and property, and no major disease epidemics will strike. There is an 80 percent likelihood of an airplane crash between May 2 and May 6 in the western world, a 90 percent likelihood of the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing with a minus figure on May 4, and an internationally-recognized spiritual leader will publicly address major issues of concern on or about May 4. Consult a higher source and your predictions professional to get an idea of what may happen to you in May. Let me be the first to wish you a Happy Fourth for 2000 -- H4Y2K!

Homosexual men and HIV

On the topic of homosexuals, HIV and AIDS, the point that stands out is that "In the United States, more than half of those who are HIV-positive or living with AIDS are homosexual men." (Voice of America, August 31, 1999) To say that many groups of people also take risks distracts from the issue, lessening the importance to all society of the deadly lifestyle of homosexual men. A discussion on the VOA report is in progress here.

Mother Teresa: What is the truth?

There is now increasing controversy about the possible sainthood of Mother Teresa.

I am one of the most vocal critics of Christian missionaries who perpetrate forcible conversions, and the destructive aspects of Christianity, but I have met Mother Theresa on more than one occasion and can attest to the fact that she was a very kind and caring person. At times, she herself rebelled against the tyrannical dictates of organized Christianity, the Church, and acted according to what she herself thought was the best thing to do.

'Azad Kashmir' a Pakistani, Muslim deception

The Pakistani, Islamic-terrorist deception is self-evident (for the language-challenged, "azad" means "independent"):

"No person or political party shall be permitted to propagate against or take part in activities prejudicial or detrimental to the ideology of the State's accession to Pakistan. Freedom of speech may be restricted in the interest of friendly relations with Pakistan." - So-called Constitution of so-called Azad Kashmir, Clause 4.

All of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of Bharat (aka India) --Pakistan and China must end their occuation of all Bharatiya territory. All of Jammu and Kashmir is already Azad becuase Bharat is Azad. (Compare with: "California is independent because the U.S. is independent".)
